Is It Time To Upgrade Your Website?

website refresh

It takes about seven or so seconds for someone to judge a website. Most people judge a site based on its looks, which isn't surprising, even if it's not a good idea. If your website looks old or unprofessional, it can be a problem for your business. This doesn't mean that your website should be made obsolete or contain only the necessary things when it first rolled out because even a modernized or functioning website can still look neglected.

Just like your brick and mortar business, you need to keep your online business looking fresh, functional, and customer-friendly.

Organized Website

The first thing that you should do is to get your website organized. If your website's layout was previously planned, you will need to change it to meet the needs of your customers and make it more appealing to search engines. If your original layout wasn't very visible, make sure that you add pictures and graphics so that your customers see what they need.

You should also make sure that the files on your website are organized and easy to navigate. If users coming from search engines are unable to navigate the site and end up at a Forms page because of the layout, they may decide in favor of another site. This can cost you money when you decide to reinstate a Form. You should also avoid mistakes in the coding of the site. Using improper HTML coding can make it difficult for customers to navigate the site and find the information they need.

For website rankings on search sites, you should also be on the lookout for a design that makes it easy for people to find your business. Generally, very few people bother opening up Google pages in their browser, and even fewer actually have the time to view all of the results that are posted there. If your site isn't friendly, you could end up with serious losses.

But just as a reminder, make your website appealing and user friendly for your customers. Provide ways for users to make comments on your blog and forum posts, and provide a user friendly environment for search engine spiders to crawl and properly index your site.

Organic Traffic

Keeping your website search engine friendly is only the first step. To rank highly organically on search engines, you must have organic traffic. Organic traffic is people sent to your site by the search engines themselves.

Building a website is only the first part of the puzzle. Traffic is also needed in order to make your website successful. This is achieved through article marketing, social networking, blogs, as well as bookmarks on social sites. It's important to become visible across several social sites and to engage your customers. Otherwise, any effort that you put into SEO will likely be in vain.

Keep in mind that the difference between good SEO and bad SEO is the difference between success and failure. If you do decide to use good SEO services, then great! Companies such as HubSpot have a wealth of information that can make your SEO strategy world-class!
